The growth in MEMS applications developed on 200mm wafer technologies has been driven in large part by the consumer electronics and automotive segments. Applied Materials is actively identifying and solving key challenges in materials and process development posed in MEMS production with the introduction of new and re-engineered hardware solutions for both production and R&D environments. Through collaborations with our customers we are pursuing continuous tool and materials and process technology improvements to support today's expanding device classes.
