New!
As of May 1, 2010, non-U.S. citizens with valid U.S. visas may enter Mexico with the U.S. visa, and do not have to obtain a Mexican visa.

All foreign visitors desiring to enter Mexico must have a valid passport. Depending on your citizenship, the duration and reasons for your stay you may need to obtain a visa before coming to Mexico. Below is a sample list of countries of citizenship requiring a visa:
  • Brazil
  • China
  • Egypt
  • India
  • Russian Federation
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • Turkey
  • Vietnam
For the full list, please visit this link.

Foreign participants should contact the Mexican Embassy, Consulate, or Office of Tourism in their home country as soon as possible to determine their particular visa requirements. Participants requiring visas must initiate the application process many months in advance of their departure date. Please be sure to apply for the TOURIST VISA for Mexico.

For countries not listed above, please check here to verify that a visa is not needed. Those carrying passports from the countries not needing a visa will need to fill out the tourist card provided to you at the airport of your departing city or on the airplane to Mexico. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP THE SMALL BOTTOM PIECE OF THE TOURIST FORM THAT IS STAMPED AND GIVEN BACK TO YOU UPON CLEARING IMMIGRATION. You will need it at the Hilton Cancun Hotel, if you are staying there, as well as UPON YOUR DEPARTURE FROM MEXICO.

Letters of invitation are not required if you are in need of a tourist visa to Mexico. If you are in need of a letter confirming your participation in the MEMS 2011 Conference for another reason, please complete the Visa Letter Request Form. You must register for the MEMS 2011 Conference before the letter will be sent.
