Bazaars of Istanbul

Shopping in Istanbul is a lot of fun as well as being a cultural experience. You will remember being offered by merchants, feverishly bargaining and the interesting conversations that will take during your shopping. The tour will start with a 30 min. stop at the Spice Market. This market is one of Istanbul's covered bazaars - but one which smells like all mysteries of "1001" nights. It is very cozy. The next stop will be the Covered Bazaar, to explore its mysterious atmosphere and wander the aisles, smell the spices and discover the gold merchants in this largest covered market in Istanbul; there are 4400 shops to choose from when one hits this fabulous Mecca.

Beylerbeyi Palace & Bosphorus Cruise

Group will leave hotel with a bus to visit the first destination Beylerbeyi Palace. To travel to this beautiful marble palace group will first cross from the European side of Istanbul to the Asian side via the first suspension bridge in the world. The Palace which is made entirely of marble is known for its beautiful works of art including Oriental and European furniture, pictures and porcelains from the 19th century. At the palace board a private boat from the pier. On board tea/coffee will be served while cruising the mighty waterway and viewing the many examples of a by-gone era that stands proudly on the shores of the Bosphorus. This serene journey is certain to enhance one's many adventures in Istanbul.

Discover Istanbul Highlight Tour

This sightseeing tour in the beautiful city of Istanbul will start with a visit to the Hippodrome Square built by the Roman emperor Septimus and Sultan Ahmed Camii also called the Blue Mosque. The Blue Mosque is the most famous monument in both the Turkish and Islam world, and the only mosque built with six minarets. Only a short walk away stands the magnificent Hagia Sophia, built by Constantine the Great and considered a masterpiece of Byzantine Art. Its' first construction dates back to the second half of the 4rth century. Hagia Sophia served 916 years as a church and 477 years as a mosque until Ataturk's orders converted it into a museum. Last stop will be the Underground Cistern. In this historical place one discovers the grandiose nature of the past when touring through Istanbul's largest and most magnificent underground Cistern. Built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century to supply water to the near-by palace complex, the cistern has a total of 336 decorated columns.

Hear about Harem life during the curator-guided visit to Topkapi Palace, the most famous palace in Istanbul. The palace was the Imperial residence of the Ottoman Sultans from the 1460's'to the 1800's'and is most extensive and fascinating monument of Turkish civil architecture in existence. In addition to its historical and architectural interest, the palace houses extraordinary collections of porcelain, armory, fabrics, miniatures, calligraphy, and many precious objects and works of art that belonged to the sultans and their court including the Topkapi Dagger and the Spoon makers Diamond

A Day in Ephesus

A visit to Ephesus once the commercial center of the ancient world is a highlight of any visit to Turkey. The city, whose wealth and patronage supported its splendid architectural program, was dedicated to the goddess Artemis. Her enormous temple once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient World and rebuilt several times, in its latest form dates from the third century BC. The ruins include theatre, gymnasium, agora and baths as well as the library of Celsus.
